GRANT-IN-AID AWARD - COLLEGIATE STUDENTS
The Alpha Phi Chapter awards monetary grant-in-aid awards to junior or senior students studying in the field of education at Western Pennsylvania colleges and universities. Two grants of $1500 each will be awarded in 2024. The application period for the 2024 award is now open and closes on April 1, 2024. Click below for the application and instructions.

GRANT-IN-AID AWARD - HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Through Spring 2022, the Alpha Phi Chapter presented a monetary grant-in-aid award to a graduating high school senior girl from a school district in which members taught. The student must plan to major in education to be eligible to apply.

2022
Alpha Phi awarded two grant-in-aid awards in 2022. Recipients (pictured below) were Dominique Bannister (L) of East Allegheny High School who plans to attend St. Vincent College and Kendall Obley (R) of McKeesport High School who plans to attend Washington and Jefferson College.
2020
Abigail Adamiak of Avonworth High School was awarded one of two Alpha Phi Chapter 2020 grant-in-aid awards. Abigail plans to major in music education at West Virginia University.

Austie Russell of Bentworth High School was awarded one of two Alpha Phi Chapter 2020 grant-in-aid awards. Austie plans to attend California University of Pennsylvania where she will major in education. She plans to become a secondary social studies teacher.
2019
Kira Kieler of West Mifflin Area High School (holding the certificate) is presented the Alpha Phi Chapter 2019 grant-in-aid award from Grant-in-Aid Review Committee Member, Simone Miller. Kira plans to attend Jackson University (Florida) where she will major in education. She plans to become secondary English teacher.
2018
Angela Vietmeier of Thomas Jefferson High School (holding the certificate) is presented the Alpha Phi Chapter 2018 grant-in-aid award from 2016-2018 officers (from left) second vice president, Judy Bookhamer, corresponding secretary, Donna Watson, and president, Suzanne Mackulin. Angela plans to attend Slippery Rock University where she will major in education.

Beatrice Kossol of Bentworth High School is awarded the Alpha Phi Chapter 2017 grant-in-aid award from 2016-2018 second vice president, Judy Bookhamer and 2016-2018 corresponding secretary, Donna Watson. Beatrice plans to attend Robert Morris college where she will major in education.
